Happy Birthday to me!!

Friday I turned 19 and it turned out to be a pretty sweet birthday. Friday wasn't the greatest because I had two tests and I was at school from 9am to 7pm which really stank. But after I was all done my mom, dad and mandi came to visit me! They took me to Panda Express for dinner cause I was really craving it. Then me and mandi hung out with some of my friends at BYU. My friend Jordan found out that it was my birthday so he suggested we build a fort at his apartment and watch a movie. Which we attempted to do. The fort part didn't really work out but we ended up watching episodes of the office on their projector. It was a lot of fun. Then me and mandi had a slumber party at my apartment and slept on the couch. Anywho, on Saturday my parents came and got us and we spent the whole day at Thanksgiving Point. And guess what?!! I have pictures this time!! Low quality pictures because they came from my phone but they are still pictures!

These are pictures of us waiting for the 3D dinosaur movie!!

I think my dad had the most fun at the museum. He made a dinosaur, traced a fossil...and made a dam?
These are pictures of me in jail and us walking through the gardens. The gardens were by far my favorite place:) There were so many flowers!! And last but not least...I got to milk a cow (let's pretend it was a real cow)! Every 19 year-old girl's dream! Haha it was a lot of fun and ended up being a pretty awesome birthday:) Thanks mom and dad! And Mandi!

I'm a Photographer!!

I have a lot of homework but I've been working on it all day and I needed a little break so I'm going to complain some more! So guess who has two tests on her birthday?! Yup, me!! Haha, yeah it stinks but I've decided I'm going to get them all over with before Saturday so I can play with the family when they come up. I can't even tell you how excited I am for them to come visit:) Yay! And the best part is that my dad can't bug me about finding a job anymore...because I found one!! I am now going to be working at the Portrait Studio. It's a studio owned by LifeTouch and I'm going to be a photographer! Judging by my lovely pictures that I haven't posted on my blog this will probably come as a shocker to you. But no worries, you can be trained to be a photographer! Karli's roommate Emily works there and she told me they were hiring and so I went in and applied. The manager said as long as I pass a drug test and a background check I will have a job there. So pray I pass! Haha no jk, I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm really excited because it sounds like a fun job but I'm also worried about staying cought up with all of my homework. No more sleeping in for me! I'm sure everything will work out though:) The Lord will take care of me like he always has. Anyway, I should go study some more. Btw, this picture on the right will soon be me;)

Heavy Backpack

I call this post heavy backpack because my backpack is very heavy and I would like to talk about it. This week I discovered the chemistry lab and unfortunately they don't have computers in the chemistry lab and all of my homework is done online! It stinks. So basically every day I have to hawl around my backpack with my laptop, chemistry book, human physiology binder, scriptures, and the cord for my laptop because the battery only lasts for about half an hour (of course). It's very heavy!! Yesterday I didn't want to wait for the bus because I hate waiting for things so I ended up walking to school. I didn't realize how far away it was. And my backpack is very heavy!! It basically took me about half an hour and unfortunately it was a hot day. So yeah, I got my workout for the day and probably ended up getting there about the time that the bus did. So probably won't try that one again! Anyway, I'm just writing this because I have an hour until my next class and I'm bored. I could do my homework but my brain isn't working too well right now. Good thing I have my laptop!! I love my laptop. Anywho, off to class now! Hope you all have a great day!

My First Week

I'm really upset right now because I just added a huge post and I accidentally deleted it. So now I'm starting over:( Ok, this is a picture of me and my BYU pals on my first night at college that I stole from Sally's facebook. The one with the guitar is Ken Mickelsen and the homie on the right is Mitchell Westoff. Basically all we did was play Apples to Apples and quote Flight of the Conchords. It pretty much rocked. Since then I've started classes and it's been going pretty well. I hate my chemistry class with a passion, I'm not good at chemistry at all but hopefully I'll make it through. My favorite class is Human Physiology, I love learning about the body! Anywho, I've been making a lot of friends which is good. Everyone here is so friendly and nice. It's funny because some people will meet me, then forget they already met me...and so they'll "meet" me again...if that makes sense. Haha it's way funny but I just go along with it and ask them the same questions that I already know the answer to. I'm really loving living in Raintree, I'm learning that Raintree is kind of the party off-campus housing. There is something going on almost every night! It's really hard to discipline myself to do my homework instead of party. I really love our ward up here, our bishop is really nice and all the people are just really cool. On sunday some of the guys took a TV out on the "grassy knoll" haha and we watched Holes, it was a lot of fun. Mostly I've been hanging out with Karli and her friends. Now I'm going to see if I can post these pictures without ruining anything again.

Ok, yay it worked! All right, this is one of Karli's roommates Emily and she is really really nice, like really, she is a sweetheart haha. Last week we went to the rope swing in Mona which was basically this little pond and it had a rope hanging from a tree and we swung into the pond. Haha it was way fun and I met a lot of people. This
picture on the left is Karli, then me, Emily, and Kelsey. Kelsey is one of Karli's roommate's sister haha. She was staying with them for awhile before she moved to Russia to teach Russian children english. So yeah, that was my Mona adventure. Let's see, what else have I been doing? I joined the swing dance club which is a lot of fun. Well, I've only been once, but it was fun! Ken talked me into going and I got to meet some people there too. I'm a horrible dancer but I'm working on it. Ken tought me some sweet lifts and stuff, you know, like the one where they pick you up and toss you around their back and then catch you in the front...it's freakin amazing, and way fun! There's also this other one where you jump up and swing your legs...nvm I'm not going to get into this because it doesn't sound good if you explain it in writing. Anywho, I've been having a lot of fun and I'm going to come home for a visit on Friday and I'm really excited! I need to get in the habit of taking pictures wherever I go because I've just been stealing pictures from people off of facebook. It would help if i had a new camera (hint hint) my birthday is on it's way! haha jk, but anyway...yeah.

Starting College

Well, I'd have to say that this week has probably been one of the hardest weeks of my life. I don't think I ever realized how much I truly love our family and every person in it. Haha I definitely did not think that leaving would be as hard as it was. I haven't had too much homesickness this week just because I've been pretty busy and also because i think I knew I would see everyone at the Hendrickson Reunion. By the time it was time to say goodbye though, it was pretty difficult. It's hard not to have your mom and dad there for you every second to tell you what to do and to help you and give you hugs when you need them. I'm sitting in my apartment though and I am actually pretty all right. I'm really looking forward to starting classes and getting busy. For some reason I just really like school and learning. The work part isn't that great but the learning is ok haha. I'm just excited to get busy so that I don't have to worry about being homesick. I hate it because whenever I meet new people or I'm in an uncomfortable situation I just clam up. I really can't help it! It doesn't matter how hard I think of something to say, I can't ever think of anything. I'm hoping that the whole college experience will get me out of that. Everyone that I have met so far has been really nice and helpful:) I just need to somehow make the little girl inside of me back off and let me make some friends!! Well, I'll let you know how my first day of classes go and hopefully get some pictures posted of my roommates and stuff.
